Consultant Profile

Andy Chong is a Singapore-based π-shaped Facilitator and Design Analyst driven by a fundamental question: “Why do so many workplaces drain souls instead of nurturing them?” This curiosity led him to master both the science of human behavior and the art of Design Thinking, creating a unique practice where purpose and performance converge.

He has worked as a User Researcher for a health startup and volunteered as a UX researcher for the Digital Church Office, optimizing the Catholicsg app and catechism registration service to better serve the community.

His work reflects a core belief: “There is something holy, something divine, hidden in the most ordinary situations” (St. Josemaría Escrivá). Technology, he believes, should serve human dignity in all contexts – from healthcare to spiritual life.

As a UX Design Bootcamp instructor for General Assembly and accredited IBM Enterprise Design Thinking coach, he trains organizations to uncover unmet customer needs because solutions stick when they resonate with deeper human motivations and identify opportunities that are desirable, viable, and feasible. Inspired by Viktor Frankl’s search for meaning and Escrivá’s vision of sanctified work, he always asks not just “what works” but “why it matters.”

With a passion for team development honed while leading multinational customer experience teams for Fortune 500 companies like Microsoft, Blackberry, and Fujitsu, Andy bridges Design Thinking with Team Development to:

* Transform collaboration through empathy-first methods

* Turn tasks into missions using tools like LEGO® Serious Play®

* Preserve the “divine spark” of human connection in an age of digital disruption

For Andy, exceptional work must enhance life, not just sustain it – a principle echoing Victor Frankl: “success, like happiness, cannot be pursued; it must ensue as the unintended side-effect of one’s personal dedication to a cause greater than oneself.

Organizations he’s worked with include global banks, tech giants, telcos, government agencies, universities, family businesses, non-profits, and NGOs.
